|
2:54 |
And remember Moses said
to his people: "O my people! Ye have indeed wronged
yourselves by your worship of the calf: So turn (in
repentance) to your Maker, and slay yourselves (the
wrong-doers); that will be better for you in the
sight of your Maker." Then He turned towards you (in
forgiveness): For He is Oft- Returning, Most
Merciful.
|
|
2:72 |
And remember Moses said
to his people: "O my people! Ye have indeed wronged
yourselves by your worship of the calf: So turn (in
repentance) to your Maker, and slay yourselves (the
wrong-doers); that will be better for you in the
sight of your Maker." Then He turned towards you (in
forgiveness): For He is Oft- Returning, Most
Merciful.
|
|
2:154 |
And say not of those who
are slain in the way of Allah. "They are dead." Nay,
they are living, though ye perceive (it) not.
|
|
2:178 |
O ye who believe! the
law of equality is prescribed to you in cases of
murder: the free for the free, the slave for the
slave, the woman for the woman. But if any remission
is made by the brother of the slain, then grant any
reasonable demand, and compensate him with handsome
gratitude, this is a concession and a Mercy from
your Lord. After this whoever exceeds the limits
shall be in grave chastisement.
|
|
2:190 |
Fight in the cause of
Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress
limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors.
|
|
2:191 |
And slay them wherever
ye catch them, and turn them out from where they
have turned you out; for persecution and oppression
are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the
Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there;
but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward
of those who suppress faith.
|
|
2:193 |
And fight them on until
there is no more persecution or oppression, and the
religion becomes Allah's. But if they cease. Let
there be no hostility except to those who practice
oppression.
|
|
2:216 |
Fighting is prescribed
for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that
ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that
ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah
knoweth, and ye know not.
|
|
2:217 |
They ask thee concerning
fighting in the Prohibited Month. Say: "Fighting
therein is a grave (offense); but graver is it in
the sight of Allah to prevent access to the path of
Allah, to deny Him, to prevent access to the Sacred
Mosque, and drive out its members." Tumult and
oppression are worse than slaughter. Nor will they
cease fighting you until they turn you back from
your faith if they can. And if any of you turn back
from their faith and die in unbelief, their works
will bear no fruit in this life and in the
Hereafter; they will be companions of the Fire and
will abide therein.
|
|
2:244 |
Then fight in the Cause
of Allah, and know that Allah Heareth and Knoweth
all things.
|
|
2:246 |
Has thou not turned thy
vision to the Chiefs of the Children of Israel after
(the time of) Moses? they said to a prophet (that
was) among them: "Appoint for us a king, that we may
fight in the cause of Allah." He said: "Is it not
possible, if ye were commanded to fight, that ye
will not fight?" They said: "How could we refuse to
fight in the cause of Allah, seeing that we were
turned out of our homes and our families?" but when
they were commanded to fight, they turned back,
except a small band among them. But Allah Has full
knowledge of those who do wrong.
|
|
3:13 |
"There has already been
for you a sign in the two armies that met (in
combat): One was fighting in the cause of Allah, the
other resisting Allah. these saw with their own eyes
twice their number. But Allah doth support with His
aid whom He pleaseth. In this is a lesson for such
as have eyes to see."
|
|
3:21 |
As to those who deny the
Signs of Allah and in defiance of right, slay the
prophets, and slay those who teach just dealing with
mankind, announce to them a grievous penalty.
|
|
3:121 |
(Remember that morning)
thou didst leave thy household (early) to post the
faithful at their stations for battle: And Allah
heareth and knoweth all things:
|
|
3:154 |
After (the excitement)
of the distress, He sent down calm on a band of you
overcome with slumber, while another band was
stirred to anxiety by their own feelings, moved by
wrong suspicions of Allah - suspicions due to
ignorance. They said: "What affair is this of ours?"
Say thou: "Indeed, this affair is wholly Allah's."
They hide in their minds what they dare not reveal
to thee. They say (to themselves): "If we had had
anything to do with this affair, We should not have
been in the slaughter here." Say: "Even if you had
remained in your homes, those for whom death was
decreed would certainly have gone forth to the place
of their death"; but (all this was) that Allah might
test what is in your breasts and purge what is in
your hearts. For Allah knoweth well the secrets of
your hearts.
|
|
3:157 |
And if ye are slain, or
die, in the way of Allah, forgiveness and mercy from
Allah are far better than all they could amass :
|
|
3:158 |
And if ye die, or are
slain, Lo! it is unto Allah that ye are brought
together.
|
|
3:167 |
And the Hypocrites also.
These were told: "Come, fight in the way of Allah,
or (at least) drive (the foe from your city)." They
said: "Had we known there would be a fight, we
should certainly have followed you." They were that
day nearer to Unbelief than to Faith, saying with
their lips what was not in their hearts. But Allah
hath full knowledge of all they conceal.
|
|
3:169 |
Think not of those who
are slain in Allah's way as dead. Nay, they live,
finding their sustenance in the presence of their
Lord;
|
|
3:181 |
Allah hath heard the
taunt of those who say: "Truly, Allah is indigent
and we are rich!"- We shall certainly record their
word and (their act) of slaying the prophets in
defiance of right, and We shall say: "Taste ye the
penalty of the Scorching Fire!"
|
|
3:195 |
And their Lord hath
accepted of them, and answered them: "Never will I
suffer to be lost the work of any of you, be he male
or female: Ye are members, one of another: Those who
have left their homes, or been driven out therefrom,
or suffered harm in My Cause, or fought or been
slain,- verily, I will blot out from them their
iniquities, and admit them into Gardens with rivers
flowing beneath;- A reward from Allah, and from
Allah is the best of rewards."
|
|
4:66 |
If We had ordered them
to sacrifice their lives or to leave their homes,
very few of them would have done it: But if they had
done what they were (actually) told, it would have
been best for them, and would have gone farthest to
strengthen their (faith);
|
|
4:74 |
Let those fight in the
Cause of Allah who sell the life of this world for
the hereafter. To him who fighteth in the cause of
Allah,- whether he is slain or gets victory - soon
shall We give him a reward of great (value).
|
|
4:75 |
And why should ye not
fight in the cause of Allah and of those who, being
weak, are ill-treated (and oppressed)?- Men, women,
and children, whose cry is: "Our Lord! Rescue us
from this town, whose people are oppressors; and
raise for us from Thee one who will protect; and
raise for us from Thee one who will help!"
|
|
4:76 |
Those who believe fight
in the cause of Allah, and those who reject faith
fight in the cause of Tagut (Evil): So fight ye
against the friends of Satan: feeble indeed is the
cunning of Satan.
|
|
4:77 |
Hast thou not turned thy
though to those who were told to hold back their
hands (from fight) but establish regular prayers and
spend in Zakat (regular charity)? When (at length)
the order for fighting was issued to them, behold! a
section of them feared men as - or even more than -
they should have feared Allah. They said: "Our Lord!
Why hast Thou ordered us to fight? Wouldst Thou not
grant us respite to our (natural) term, near
(enough)?" Say: "Short is the enjoyment of this
world: the Hereafter is the best for those who do
right: Never will ye be dealt with unjustly in the
very least!
|
|
4:84 |
Then fight in Allah's
Cause - Thou art held responsible only for thyself -
and rouse the believers. It may be that Allah will
restrain the fury of the Unbelievers; for Allah is
the strongest in might and in punishment.
|
|
4:89 |
They but wish that ye
should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the
same footing (as they): So take not friends from
their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah
(from what is forbidden). But if they turn
renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find
them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers
from their ranks;-
|
|
4:90 |
Except those who join a
group between whom and you there is a treaty (of
peace), or those who approach you with hearts
restraining them from fighting you or fighting their
own people. If Allah had pleased, He could have
given them power over you, and they would have
fought you: Therefore if they withdraw from you but
fight you not, and (instead) send you (guarantees
of) peace, then Allah Hath opened no way for you (to
war against them).
|
|
4:91 |
Others you will find
that wish to gain your confidence as well as that of
their people: Every time they are sent back to
temptation, they succumb thereto: if they withdraw
not from you nor give you (guarantees) of peace
besides restraining their hands, seize them and slay
them wherever ye get them: In their case We have
provided you with a clear argument against them.
|
|
4:92 |
Never should a believer
kill a believer, except by mistake. And whoever
kills a believer by mistake, it is ordained that he
should free a believing slave, and pay compensation
to the deceased's family, unless they remit it
freely. If the deceased belonged to a people at war
with you, and he was a believer, the freeing of a
believing slave (is enough). If he belonged to a
people with whom ye have treaty of mutual alliance,
compensation should be paid to his family, and a
believing slave be freed. For those who find this
beyond their means, (is prescribed) a fast for two
months running: by way of repentance to Allah. for
Allah hath All knowledge and All wisdom
|
|
5:24 |
They said: "O Moses!
while they remain there, never shall we be able to
enter, to the end of time. Go thou, and thy Lord,
and fight ye two, while we sit here (and watch)."
|
|
5:32 |
On that account: We
ordained for the Children of Israel that if any one
slew a person - unless it be for murder or for
spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if
he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a
life, it would be as if he saved the life of the
whole people. Then although there came to them Our
messengers with clear signs, yet, even after that,
many of them continued to commit excesses in the
land.
|
|
5:33 |
The punishment of those
who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and
strive with might and main for mischief through the
land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting
off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile
from the land: that is their disgrace in this world,
and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter
|
|
5:95 |
O ye who believe! Kill
not game while in the sacred precincts or in state
of pilgrimage. If any of you doth so intentionally,
the compensation is an offering, brought to the Kàba,
of a domestic animal equivalent to the one he
killed, as adjudged by two just men among you; or by
way of atonement, the feeding of the indigent; or
its equivalent in fasts: that he may taste of the
penalty of his deed. Allah forgives what is past:
for repetition Allah will punish him. For Allah is
Exalted, and Lord of Retribution.
|
|
6:137 |
Even so, in the eyes of
most of the pagans, their "partners" made alluring
the slaughter of their children, in order to lead
them to their own destruction, and cause confusion
in their religion. If Allah had willed, they would
not have done so: But leave alone them and what they
forge.
|
|
6:151 |
Say: "Come, I will
rehearse what Allah hath (really) prohibited you
from": Join not anything with Him; be good to your
parents; kill not your children on a plea of want;-
We provide sustenance for you and for them;- come
not nigh to indecent deeds. Whether open or secret;
take not life, which Allah hath made sacred, except
by way of justice and law: thus doth He command you,
that ye may learn wisdom.
|
|
7:127 |
Said the chiefs of
Pharaoh's people: "Wilt thou leave Moses and his
people, to spread mischief in the land, and to
abandon thee and thy gods?" He said: "Their male
children will we slay; (only) their females will we
save alive; and we have over them (power)
irresistible.
|
|
7:141 |
And remember We rescued
you from Pharaoh's people, who afflicted you with
the worst of punishments, who slew your male
children and saved alive your females: in that was a
momentous trial from your Lord.
|
|
8:16 |
If any do turn his back
to them on such a day - unless it be in a stratagem
of war, or to retreat to a troop (of his own)- he
draws on himself the wrath of Allah, and his abode
is Hell,- an evil refuge (indeed)!
|
|
8:17 |
It is not ye who slew
them; it was Allah. When thou threwest (a handful of
dust), it was not thy act, but Allah's: in order
that He might confer on the Believers a gracious
benefit from Himself: for Allah is He Who heareth
and knoweth (all things).
|
|
8:39 |
And fight them on until
there is no more persecution, and religion becomes
Allah's in its entirety; but if they cease, verily
Allah doth see all that they do.
|
|
8:65 |
O Prophet! Rouse the
Believers to the fight. If there are twenty amongst
you, patient and persevering, they will vanquish two
hundred: if a hundred, they will vanquish a thousand
of the Unbelievers: for these are a people without
understanding.
|
|
9:5 |
But when the forbidden
months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans
wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer
them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem
(of war); but if they repent, and establish regular
prayers and pay Zakat, then open the way for them:
for Allah is Oft- forgiving, Most Merciful.
|
|
9:12 |
But if they violate
their oaths after their covenant, and attack you for
your Faith,- fight ye the chiefs of Unfaith: for
their oaths are nothing to them: that thus they may
be restrained.
|
|
9:13 |
Will ye not fight people
who violated their oaths, plotted to expel the
Messenger, and attacked you first? Do ye fear them?
Nay, it is Allah Whom ye should more justly fear, if
ye believe!
|
|
9:14 |
Fight them, and Allah
will punish them by your hands, and disgrace them,
help you (to victory) over them, heal the breasts of
Believers,
|
|
9:29 |
Fight those who believe
not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that
forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His
Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth,
from among the People of the Book, until they pay
the
Jizya
with willing submission, and feel themselves
subdued.
|
|
9:30 |
The Jews call Ùzair a
son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son
of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in
this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old
used to say. Allah's curse be on them: how they are
deluded away from the Truth! |
|
9:36 |
The number of months in
the sight of Allah is twelve (in a year)- so
ordained by Him the day He created the heavens and
the earth; of them four are sacred: that is the
right religion. So wrong not yourselves therein. And
fight the Pagans all together as they fight you all
together. But know that Allah is with those who
restrain themselves.
|
|
9:111 |
Allah hath purchased of
the believers their persons and their goods; for
theirs (in return) is the Garden (of Paradise): they
fight in His Cause, and slay and are slain: a
promise binding on Him in Truth, through the Torah,
the Gospel, and the Qurán: and who is more faithful
to his Covenant than Allah? Then rejoice in the
bargain which ye have concluded: that is the
achievement supreme.
|
|
9:123 |
O ye who believe! fight
the unbelievers who are near to you, and let them
find harshness in you: and know that Allah is with
those who fear Him.
|
|
17:33 |
Nor take life - which
Allah has made sacred - except for just cause. And
if anyone is slain wrongfully, we have given his
heir authority (to demand Qisás or to forgive): but
let him nor exceed bounds in the matter of taking
life; for he is helped (by the Law).
|
|
18:74 |
Then they proceeded:
until, when they met a young boy, he slew him. Moses
said: "Hast thou slain an innocent person who had
slain none? Truly a foul (unheard of) thing hast
thou done!"
|
|
22:58 |
Those who leave their
homes in the Cause of Allah, and are then slain or
die,- on them will Allah bestow verily a goodly
Provision. Truly Allah is He Who bestows the best
provision.
|
|
25:68 |
Those who invoke not,
with Allah, any other god, nor slay such life as
Allah has made sacred except for just cause, nor
commit fornication; - and any that does this (not
only) meets punishment.
|
|
28:33 |
He said: "O my Lord! I
have slain a man among them, and I fear lest they
slay me.
|
|
29:24 |
So naught was the answer
of (Abraham's) people except that they said: "Slay
him or burn him." But Allah did save him from the
Fire. Verily in this are Signs for people who
believe.
|
|
33:16 |
Say: "Running away will
not profit you if ye are running away from death or
slaughter; and even if (ye do escape), no more than
a brief (respite) will ye be allowed to enjoy!"
|
|
33:20 |
They think that the
Confederates have not withdrawn; and if the
Confederates should come (again), they would wish
they were in the deserts (wandering) among the
Bedouins, and seeking news about you (from a safe
distance); and if they were in your midst, they
would fight but little.
|
|
33:25 |
And Allah turned back
the Unbelievers for (all) their fury: no advantage
did they gain; and enough is Allah for the Believers
in their fight. And Allah is Full of Strength,
Exalted in Might.
|
|
33:61 |
They shall have a curse
on them: whenever they are found, they shall be
seized and slain.
|
|
40:25 |
Now, when he brought
them the Truth, from Us, they said, "Slay the sons
of those who believe with him, and keep alive their
females," but the plots of Unbelievers (end) in
nothing but errors (and delusions)! ...
|
|
47:4 |
Therefore, when ye meet
the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; at
length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind
(the captives) firmly: thereafter (is the time for)
either generosity or ransom: until the war lays down
its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had
been Allah's Will, He could certainly have exacted
retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you
fight) in order to test you, some with others. But
those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will
never let their deeds be lost.
|
|
47:20 |
Those who believe say,
"Why is not a Sürah sent down (for us)?" But when a
Sürah of decisive meaning is revealed, and fighting
is mentioned therein, thou wilt see those in whose
hearts is a disease looking at thee with a look of
one in swoon at the approach of death. But more
fitting for them-
|
|
48:22 |
If the Unbelievers
should fight you, they would certainly turn their
backs; then would they find neither protector nor
helper.
|
|
49:9 |
If two parties among the
Believers fall into a fight, make ye peace between
them: but if one of them transgresses beyond bounds
against the other then fight ye (all) against the
one that transgresses until it complies with the
command of Allah; but if it complies then make peace
between them with justice and be fair: for Allah
loves those who are fair (and just).
|
|
51:10 |
Cursed be the
conjectures.
|
|
57:10 |
How is it with you that
you spend not in the cause of Allah?- For to Allah
belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth.
Not equal among you are those who spent (freely) and
fought, before the Victory, (with those who did so
later). Those are higher in rank than those who
spent (freely) and fought afterwards. But to all has
Allah promised a goodly (reward). And Allah is well
acquainted with all that ye do.
|
|
59:14 |
They will not fight you
(even) together, except in fortified townships, or
from behind walls. Strong is their fighting (spirit)
amongst themselves: thou wouldst think they were
united, but their hearts are divided: that is
because they are a people devoid of wisdom.
|
|
74:19 |
And woe to him! How he
determined!-
|
|
74:20 |
Yea, woe to him; how he
determined!- |
